No high maintenance drama queens here! Viburnums are the solid citizens of the garden; the dependable performers you can always count on. They will cheerfully fill in the background, providing accents of fragrance, fruit and fall color, while not just surviving, but thriving! Whether you need an adaptable plant for a shady wet spot, or a dry sunny area, most likely there’s a viburnum to fit the bill. That’s not to say there aren’t some stars in this showcase. Our selections offer both seasonal interest and non-temperamental performance for your garden symphony.

VIBURNUM nudum 'Winterthur'
(C8) It's now one of our most appreciated native shurbs, both for the spectacular fall fruit display, and for the shiny dark green leaves which appear to have been coated with a high gloss finish. more info

VIBURNUM nudum Collection
A collection of three plants of this native beauty. We will select three different varieties including "Winterthur" to ensure a good set of fruit. Each plant will be at least 12-15" tall. Zones 4–8. more info

VIBURNUM opulus
Upright, arching plant with flat-topped clusters of white flowers and big clusters of translucent red fruit that are purported to taste better than most. more info

VIBURNUM opulus 'Nanum'
(C) 'Nanum' is a dwarf, very unusual twiggy little shrub. Branching is dense, habit is relatively upright, leaves are much smaller than typical, and the plant matures at approximately two to three feet tall. more info

VIBURNUM opulus 'Park Harvest'
(C8) New selection with red tinged yellow leaves. Masses of white pinwheel-like flowers in flat clusters in spring. Glossy red fruit jumps against the bright yellow in fall. more info

VIBURNUM plicatum var tomentosum 'Molly Schroeder'
(C8) Unlike 'Pink Beauty', it's consistently pink from year to year. It's also an excellent rebloomer, providing an exceptional fall floral display. more info

VIBURNUM plicatum var tomentosum 'Popcorn'
(C) This rounded shrub produces flowers in hundreds of "popcorn ball" inflorescences slightly larger than tennis balls. These line every branch, virtually obscuring the foliage in the spring. more info

VIBURNUM prunifolium
(C8) Ornamental glossy dark green leaves turn shades of red and burgundy in Fall. Creamy white flowers in May are followed by clusters of fruit that change in color from pink to red then to black. more info

VIBURNUM rhytidophyllum 'Cree'
(C8) It is more compact than the species, with superior dark green foliage. Abundant white flowers in mid May, followed by loads of bright red berries that begin to ripen in late August, finally turning dark blue-black. more info

VIBURNUM trilobum Redwing® 'J.N. Select'
(C8) Selected for its rapid growth rate, neat, dense habit and attractive red-tinted new foliage. Handsome white flowers in 3-4 inch diameter flat-topped clusters appear in mid May, followed by bright red fruit which lasts all winter. more info
